Transfer policies for candidates from Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology applying to Laurentian Unviversity
A) Transfer to an Arts program from an appropriate 3-year diploma:

1. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "A" on an appropriate 3-year diploma will be considered for admission to the College-University Arts Degree Completion Program. Candidates will be required to complete a minimum of 6 to 7 full courses (36 to 42 credits) for a general Arts degree, or a minimum of 8 to 9 full courses (48 to 54 credits) for a specialized or honours degree depending on the degree of affinity of the College diploma program to the University program.

2. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "B" on an appropriate 3-year diploma or on the last two semesters of the 3-year diploma will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 36 credits.

3. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "C+" on an appropriate 3-year diploma or on the last two semesters of the 3-year diploma will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 24 credits.

B) Transfer to an Arts program from an appropriate 2-year diploma or two years of a 3-year program:

1. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "A" on an appropriate 2-year diploma may be admitted to the College-University Arts Degree Completion Program. Candidates will be required to complete a minimum of 8 to 9 courses (48 to 54 credits) for a general Arts degree, or a minimum to 13 to 14 full courses (78 to 84 credits) for a specialized or honours degree, depending on the degree of affinity of the College diploma program to the University program.

2. Applicants who are presenting two years of a 3-year program and who have achieved a cumulative G.P.A. of "A" will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 30 credits.

3. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "B" on an appropriate 2-year diploma or on two years of a 3-year program will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 24 credits.

4. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "C+" on an appropriate 2-year diploma or on two years of 3-year program will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 12 credits.

C) Transfer to programs other than Arts from a 3-year diploma:

1. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "A" on an appropriate 3-year diploma or on the last two semesters of the 3-year diploma will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 36 credits.

2. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.P.A. of "B" on an appropriate 3-year diploma or on the last two semesters of the 3-year diploma will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 24 credits.

3. Applicants who are presenting a cumulative G.PA. of "C+" on an appropriate 3-year diploma or on the last two semesters of the 3-year diploma will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 18 credits.

D) Transfer to programs other than Arts from a 2-year diploma or two years of a 3-year diploma:

1. Applicants who are presenting an appropriate 2-year diploma or two years of a 3-year program and who have achieved a cumulative G.P.A. of "A" will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 30 credits.

2. Applicants who are presenting an appropriate 2-year diploma or two years of a 3-year program and who have achieved a cumulative G.P.A. of "B" will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 18 credits.

3. Applicants who are presenting an appropriate 2-year diploma or two years of a 3-year program and who have achieved a cumulative G.P.A. of "C+" will be considered for admission with transfer credits to a maximum of 12 credits.

E) Candidates with one year of a diploma program at a C.A.A.T:

Applicants who have completed the first year of an appropriate diploma program with a G.P.A. of "C+" or better will be considered for admission to the first year of an appropriate program on probation. The student must pass 24 of the first 30 credits to clear the probationary status.
